HAPPENING NOW:

Bowel cancer and curry

A clinical trial out of england is getting underway to see if an ingredient found in curry can help prevent bowel cancer.

A spice called curcumin has been shown to beat cancer cells grown in a lab.

Now, a trial at two U.K. hospitals will look at the effects of taking curcumin pills a week before starting standard chemotherapy.

Researchers say investigating the spice’s potential to treat cancer could help with developing new drugs in the future.
