MP Larry Brock resigns from House of Commons

Larry Brock says he has resigned from the House of Commons on Friday, ending five years as Member of Parliament (MP) for Brantford-Brant South-Six Nations.

Last month, Brock announced his plans to step down, saying he planned to return to the office of the Crown prosecutor.

In the coming months, a byelection will be called in the Ontario riding along with five others that are currently vacant.

This weekend in Brantford, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is planning to hold a rally.

Over the past year, six MPs have left Poilievre’s caucus, with Brock being the latest.

Four members crossed the floor to the Liberals and Richard Martel joined the Senate this summer.
