No injuries after $500K suspected candle fire in Burlington

A suspected candle fire at a Burlington home caused around $500,000 in damages and left all four occupants uninjured.

On Thursday at around 7 a.m., fire crews received a call for a residential structure blaze in the area of North Shore.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and visible flames, determining the fire had started in a bedroom.

A total of 21 firefighters and seven emergency vehicles battled the blaze, with crews wrapping up after about three hours.

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been contacted and no injuries have been reported.

Crews are advising the public to always blow out candles before leaving a room and keep them secured in sturdy holders away from flammable materials, children and pets.
