Halton police search for man after ransacking of Halton Hills home

Halton police are looking for a man suspected of breaking and entering a home in Halton Hills on the morning of Aug. 14.

Officers say at around 11:20 a.m., a man attended a rural residence in the area of Number 5 Side Road and Sixth Line.

They say he knocked on the front door, looked into the backyard and after confirming the home was vacant, allegedly broke into the house by smashing the locked front door.

Investigators say the suspect ransacked the home, while in search of valuables, and stole cash and jewelry.

Detectives are looking for a white man with a heavy build, and is approximately between the ages of 55 to 65 years old.

They say he was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, a blue shirt and dark pants.
