A portion of James St. North from Picton St. East to Macaulay St. West was closed Thursday afternoon after reports of a multi-alarm blaze in the area.

Several firefighting teams have reportedly been sent to investigate the permanently closed New Horizons Thrift Store at 520 James St. North.

Eyewitnesses say a big fire was seen on James Street.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire or if anyone has been injured.
