St. Catharines crash leaves 24-year-old man in critical condition

Niagara police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in the City of St. Catharines that left a man in hospital in critical condition.

On Saturday at around 6:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of a collision on the Welland Canal Parkway past the water treatment plant, where a vehicle had struck a hydro pole.

Detectives say the 24-year-old Welland man was taken to hospital, where his condition worsened. He is now in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has taken over the investigation and says there is no evidence another vehicle was involved.
