Niagara residents prepare for flooding as tornado warnings sweep the region

Niagara region braced for another extreme weather event Sunday as tornado warnings swept the region. A region that is still recovering from upwards of 140 millimetres of rain just this week.
Environment Canada has confirmed our region saw 45 to 65 millimetres of rain Sunday afternoon. No reports of wind damage or tornados in the area but one funnel cloud reported by CHCH News was seen past the Thorold exit on the QEW at about 12:30pm. Some St Catharines residents we spoke to are still digging out their basements from the last storm not wanting another dumping.
