Niagara police say over 300 vehicles were stopped Tuesday during their St. Patrick’s Day RIDE Initiative, with 22 drivers ticketed for various offences.

Officers conducted RIDE spot checks in the Cities of Thorold, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls Tuesday, where they stopped over 300 vehicles.

They say they tested 30 several drivers for breath analysis, and checked if they consumed any alcohol or drugs earlier in the evening.

Police say they issued 22 Provincial Offence Notices (tickets) to drivers, including one driver who was charged with driving while under suspension, and two drivers who did not have valid insurance.
