“I came here with my sister and my baby brother and I really wanted to come to a museum and my parents said I could come here.”

Whether you chose to create, celebrate or even skate, there were many opportunities to enjoy some down time with the family and of course no school.

“I’m here with my family, my mom, dad, sister and brother.”

The Hamilton Children’s Museum hosted a full day of family events with outdoor themed crafts.

“It’s a very busy day, we have our time slots open and we are just trying to get as many people in as possible to celebrate the birds and celebrate the families,” says Scott Foster from the Hamilton Children’s Museum.

“We are here for family day, so I have my son and daughter and we are making some bird feeders.”

Over at Magnolia Hall on Hunter Street, family day was the finish to a week long event.

“So we are doing a community pancake breakfast, it’s pay-what-you-can and all the funds go to Compass Community Health kids breakfast program,” says Whitney McMeekin from Smörgåsbord at Magnolia Hall.

The Art Gallery of Burlington also had some creative activities.

“I came with my daughter because the art gallery is always a place we enjoy coming to.”

And the weather cooperated so some chose to spend Family Day outside.

“Enjoying family day, two kids and the wife here and it’s finally a nice day to be outside so we’re doing some skating.”

“I just came out with my partner, it’s been a while since we skated.”

Most of the indoor activities ended Monday afternoon but the outdoor rink at the Hamilton Waterfront is open until 9:30 p.m.
