Police say the 85-year-old pedestrian who was struck in a parking lot by an off-duty police officer, has died from his injuries.
Niagara Regional Police Service said the male pedestrian was struck in a plaza parking lot on Welland Avenue in St. Catharines on Dec. 2.
Police are not revealing the identity of the man to allow his family privacy.
Detectives say Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has been called in to investigate the crash as the driver was determined to be an off duty Nagara officer.
