McMaster’s Museum of Art has won Ontario’s Exhibition of the Year award for “The Clichettes: Lips, Wigs, and Politics.”
The exhibition topped major galleries like the Art Gallery of Ontario and Ottawa Art Gallery for its Fall 2024 exhibition
The exhibition celebrated The Clichettes who were an influential feminist performance trio whose work from 1978 to 1993 blended satire, lip-sync, theatre, drag, dance and comedy to challenge cultural tropes of femininity and masculinity.
