Commuters in Hamilton now have another option for getting to work or school, with the opening of the new Confederation GO Station on the Lakeshore West line.
After years of construction, the station is now officially complete, providing riders with a more seamless transition from bus to train service. The new stop is part of Metrolinx’s Niagara Extension project, designed to make travel between Hamilton and Niagara more convenient.

The fully accessible station features a heated island platform with weather-protective canopies, bicycle racks, a pedestrian tunnel, a pick-up and drop-off area, 148 parking spots, and direct pedestrian stair access from the platform to Centennial Parkway.
Starting on Nov. 1, Metrolinx will offer eight trips on Saturdays and Sundays to Niagara Falls GO, an increase from the current three trips each day.
The new Confederation station appears to be an essential stopover and is a part of the GO Transit’s Niagara extension project. Customers can sign up for GO alerts to receive real-time updates about schedules, delays, or disruptions.
