Niagara police have announced a list of road closures that will take place throughout the region on the day of the solar eclipse.

Beginning Monday morning, the City of Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, and parts of Crystal Beach will restrict the flow of traffic in and out of their respective regions.

These road closures are aimed at making it easier for emergency vehicles to move throughout the region, helping ease traffic and maintaining pedestrian safety.

Road closures will start to take effect in some places at 8 a.m.

Certain thoroughfares will be restricted to emergency vehicles, city employees and local traffic only.
