Colorado shooting update

We are learning more about the deadly shooting rampage in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one day after a gunman stormed a planned parenthood clinic and killed three people before surrendering.

A federal official saying Robert Dear appears to be mentally disturbed but is talking to investigators.

When officers arrived at Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs they faced a steady, relentless volley of gunfire.

Said to be armed with a high powered rifle, Dear unloaded round after round into a packed shopping area on a busy Black Friday.

Hundreds scrambled for cover. Witnesses say Dear fired at anything that moved.

Some 45 people were inside Planned Parenthood when the Dear entered the lobby.

We now know police tapped into security cameras at the clinic, watching the gunman live as he carried out his assault.

With the sun setting and the SWAT team closing in, police say Robert Dear suddenly surrendered, but he has still offered no motive.

Police were in the crosshairs for 5 hours with 5 officers hospitalized and 44-year old Garrett Swasey, the father of two young children, who lost his life.

Two civilians were also killed.

The bodies of the 3 victims were removed Saturday morning and given a somber salute to the fallen by officers on scene.

Some of those wounded are expected to be released from hospital Sunday.
