Ontario reports 650 cases, 2 deaths

Ontario is reporting 650 new cases of COVID-19 Friday and two additional deaths.

It is the highest daily-tally reported since June 6.

The data is based on more than 28,600 tests completed on the previous day with an approximate positivity rate of 2.2 per cent.

The province says 426 of the positive cases were in unvaccinated individuals, 64 were in partially vaccinated and 103 were fully vaccinated.

There are currently 135 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 77 on ventilators.

The province says 45,748 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Thursday for a total of more than 20 million.

There are 9,700,285 fully vaccinated people in Ontario.
