A 70-year-old Thorold man suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning after a fire broke out inside his McCormack Street home. Neighbours heard the smoke alarm ringing around 8am and called 911. The man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. An investigator with the Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into what sparked the fire. But at this point it appears to be accidental.
