Football fever grips Hamilton again this weekend

Football fever has taken over the City of Hamilton this weekend, part one of a pigskin double header is in the books.

The McMaster Marauders came up short in their battle for the Vanier Cup today, losing to the University of Montreal Carabins 20-19.

Students packed in the Phoenix pub on campus to support their team. Even former McMaster President Peter George came out to watch and had praise for the team’s recent success.

“Coach Ptaszek has done a great job here, three Vanier appearances in four years is really truly wonderful.”

McMaster isn’t the only Hamilton team vying for football supremacy this weekend, the Tiger-Cats go for the Grey Cup on Sunday.”

Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
