Premier Kathleen Wynne kicked off the second official day of campaigning in Ottawa today.

Wynne says the province has been on a steady road to recovery since the recession but says PC leader Tim Hudak’s ideologies are similar to prime minister Stephen Harper which would set the province back.

“I hope on these critical issues the people of Ontario will ask themselves, ‘will Tim Hudak stand up to Stephen Harper for Ontario’ if it means that he has to risk that relationship. I think we have to ask, how can Ontarians have faith in that when his ideals and values are so closely aligned with Stephen Harper.”

Wynne met with Harper in a private meeting to talk about retirement savings last year. Harper allegedly said the Conservative government has given people the ability to fend for themselves when it comes to saving for their golden years.

Wynne said if elected, she would stand up against Harper when it comes to pension plans.
