Update: A post mortem exam has concluded that Tammy Le died of, what police are calling, external neck compression.  Detectives are still trying to locate her cellphone.  If anyone in the area of the Admiral Inn finds a phone, they should call Hamilton Police.

It’s been a violent weekend in Hamilton, with police investigating two murders, the first and second of the year in the city.

Early Saturday morning a 25 year old woman from Markham was found dead by her husband in their hotel room at the Admiral Inn on Dundurn Street North. Tammy Le’s husband returned to the hotel to find her dead. He called 911 after discovering Tammy’s body in their room on the second floor. Police say her husband was out of the room for a length of time and stressed that he is not a suspect in the woman’s murder.

Police blocked all entrances and exits of the hotel with police tape and questioned guests and hotel staff. The detective in charge of the case says there’s no concern for public safety and that they don’t believe it was a random crime.

This morning police found a man’s body behind Ecole Secondaire Geroges-P-Vanier on Macklin Street North. Police say this is the man they were looking for in connection to the murder of Tammy Le. There are treating the man’s death as suspicious, but do not believe foul play was involved.

The police confirmed this morning that Tammy Le worked in the sex trade and that the man was a client.  Police are also looking to speak to the person who dropped off personal items belonging to Le.

On Sunday afternoon around 2:30 there was a stabbing inside a duplex at 86 Birge Street, an area close to Hamilton General Hospital.  31 year old Richard Crowder, father of two was killed. Richard had made his way from the home to the sidewalk and collapsed. A number of people nearby saw him. One said his face was covered in blood and that he had slash wounds on his neck and face. He was taken to Hamilton General without vital signs and was pronounced dead at 3:15. Police sealed the area and brought their incident command center to the scene. One man who lives in the apartment above said whoever lives there is dealing drugs.
