Cities across Canada, including Hamilton, are holding demonstrations this week to call on the government to open its borders to Syrian refugees.

This as hundreds of migrants and refugees received a warm welcome in cities across Germany on Sunday. People were greeted at train stations across the country by large groups of well-wishers holding “welcome” banners and balloons.

CHCH News spoke with members of a Syrian family now living in Hamilton who say the Canadian government needs to do more to bring refugees into this country.
