Two suspects sought in Tim Hortons arson investigation

Halton police have released surveillance images of two suspects wanted in connection to an early morning fire in downtown Burlington.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Halton police and the Burlington Fire Department responded to a fire call at the Tim Hortons at 601 Brant St.

Police say one of the suspects was caught on camera tampering with a garbage can before the pair walked away. A few minutes later, a large plume of smoke could be seen coming out of the same garbage bin and continued to burn and spread to the building until a passerby noticed and called 911.

The first suspect is described by police as wearing a black hooded coat, light blue jeans and dark coloured shoes. The second suspect is described as a white man, with a black coat, light blue jeans, short dark hair, dark coloured shoes and was walking with a cane in his left hand.

Anyone with information about this arson is asked to contact Detective Constable Jacques Brunelle at 905-825-4747 ext. 2334.
