VIDEO: Aviation experts are challenging U.S. President Donald Trump over the legal authority to ban Canadian-made aircraft in American skies. On social media on Thursday, Trump claimed a fleet of U.S.-made Gulfstream jets have yet to be certified in Canada, and in retaliation, he’s issuing a 50 percent tariff on all Canadian planes until the American planes are given the green light. Aviation experts are refuting the U.S. president’s statement from yesterday, by saying the FAA in the U.S. has the authority to decertify a plane and that most of the American Gulfstream jets have already been approved by Transport Canada.
