77-year-old woman dead after two-vehicle collision in Haldimand County

Ontario Provincial Police say one woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Haldimand County.

Authorities say at approximately 3:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving an SUV and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Haldimand Road 20 and Kohler Road.

Investigators say the lone driver of the SUV, a 77-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries in the crash. She was transported to hospital by ORNGE air ambulance.

The woman from Haldimand County later succumbed to her injuries.

The occupants of the passenger vehicle were not injured.

Officials say the intersection was closed for several hours while investigators were on scene.
