Netanyahu’s cabinet to discuss ceasefire as deal with Hezbollah approaches
The Israeli ambassador to Washington, Mike Herzog, stated that a ceasefire agreement to end hostilities between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah militants could be reached “within days.”
Herzog noted that while “points remain to be finalized,” the parties are “close to a deal,” which still requires approval from the Israeli government. He added, “It can happen within days.”
Israeli officials confirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet is set to convene on Tuesday to discuss the proposed ceasefire.
