In a surprising turn, MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski appeared to walk back their previous stance on Donald Trump after they admitted to meeting with the president-elect at his Mar-a-Lago estate. The sit-down was intended to mend fences and avoid retribution over their coverage of Trump. The move sparked plenty of criticism, including from several media pundits.

The pair faced backlash on “Morning Joe” from all corners, including conservative commentator Megyn Kelly, who pointed out that the duo had once referred to Trump as “Hitler.”

MSNBC hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough are trending today over their meeting with U.S. President-in-waiting Donald Trump, a discussion they say was tied to concerns about his incoming administration.

The “Morning Joe” duo’s apparent U-turn comes after years of criticism of the second-time commander-in-chief, including Scarborough comparing Trump to “Hitler” and controversy over a canceled show following the Trump assassination attempt.

Their revelation has drawn significant blowback, mainly from pundits across the political spectrum.

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly went on an expletive-laced rant on her show, challenging their credibility and accusing them of favoring Trump during his first presidential campaign.

Meanwhile, liberal pundits are also taking aim at the MSNBC personalities.

Additionally, punches are being thrown at MSNBC over reports of declining TV ratings and influence leading up to this year’s election, raising questions about the state of the media.
