Justin Trudeau prorogues Parliament, will resign as prime minister after leadership race

It’s the end of an era in Ottawa, and for a new one to begin, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says proroguing Parliament until March 24 is his answer, after the Governor General granted his request for resignation.

In the meantime, he says a “robust process” will begin for the Liberal Party to select a new leader.
