OPP, Six Nations police partially identify body found on reserve

Six Nations police along with the OPP have released the age and place of residence of an individual found dead on the reserve earlier this month.

Police say a body was found around 5:15 p.m. on April 12 on 2nd Line near Chiefswood Road on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

That body has now been identified as a 32-year-old Ohsweken resident. Police say they are withholding further information about the person to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

Residents in the area can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation into the death continues.

Officers say they believe there is no risk to public safety.

Anyone with information, or dashcam video from the area taken between April 8 and April 12, is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Six Nations police at 519-445-2811.
