A 24-year-old Brantford man is facing numerous charges after allegedly stealing a pickup truck and then subsequently crashing it in Norfolk County.

Norfolk County OPP say they were called to an address on Old Highway 24 in Waterford around 1:20 p.m. Monday for reports of a vehicle theft.

A blue 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck had allegedly been stolen by an individual wearing a black ski mask.

Police say the truck was involved in a rollover collision a short time later on Thompson Road East in Townsend.

After the crash, the suspect reportedly tried to steal a vehicle from a driver who had stopped to help, but was unsuccessful.
