Ontario reports 3,295 COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths

Ontario reported 3,295 cases of COVID-19 and 19 deaths on Thursday as the province’s latest stay-at-home order comes into effect.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 63,846 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were done, is six per cent.

Here are the COVID-19 numbers for our region

Hamilton

  • 13,687 total cases — up 52 from Wednesday
  • 12,281 resolved cases
  • 849 active cases
  • 101 in hospital
  • 332 deaths — up two from Wednesday

Niagara

  • 10,490 total cases — up 114 from Wednesday
  • 9,233 resolved cases
  • 881 active cases
  • 16 in hospital
  • 376 deaths

Brant

  • 2,001 total cases — up 35 from Wednesday
  • 1,805 resolved cases
  • 182 active cases
  • 14 deaths
  • 7 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,747 total cases — up 23 from Wednesday
  • 1,574 resolved cases
  • 129 active cases
  • 39 deaths

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital is up to 1,417. There are 525 patients in intensive care, with 331 of them on ventilators.

Another 2,576 cases have been marked as resolved.

The province administered another 108,563 vaccine doses since the last report.
