Ontario reports 3,065 COVID-19 cases and eight deaths as ICU patients surpass 500

Ontario reported 3,065 cases of COVID-19 and eight deaths on Tuesday.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 37,541 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were done, is 8.9 per cent.

Another 1,976 cases have been marked as resolved.


There are 1,161 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across the province. There are 510 patients in ICU due to the virus with 310 of them on ventilators.

The death toll is now 7,458 people.

  • 11,523 total cases — up 102 from Monday

  • 46 in hospital
  • 200 deaths

Niagara

  • 10,254 total cases — up 73 from Monday
  • 9,079 resolved cases
  • 799 active cases
  • 16 in hospital
  • 376 deaths

Brant

  • 1,941 total cases — up 40 from Monday
  • 1,772 resolved cases
  • 155 active cases
  • 13 deaths
  • 5 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,702 total cases — up 11 from Monday
  • 1,552 resolved cases
  • 106 active cases
  • 39 deaths

The province says it administered 76,199 vaccine doses by 8 p.m. on Monday.

There are 323,148 people in Ontario who are fully vaccinated.
