Ontario reports 2,320 COVID-19 cases and 32 deaths

Ontario reported 2,320 cases of COVID-19 and 32 deaths on Wednesday.

The reported positivity rate is 6.4 per cent, the lowest rate reported since Apr. 9 when the rate was 6.3 per cent.

The province completed 45,681 tests in the last day.

Hamilton

  • 18,832 total cases — up 125 from Tuesday
  • 17,091 resolved cases
  • 1,008 active cases
  • 135 in hospital
  • 372 deaths  — up three from Tuesday

Halton

  • 16,463 total cases — up 95 from Tuesday
  • 15,509 resolved cases
  • 736 active cases
  • 69 in hospital
  • 218 deaths

Niagara

  • 14,915 total cases — up 47 from Tuesday
  • 12,952 resolved cases
  • 1,565 active cases
  • 57 in hospital
  • 398 deaths  — up one from Tuesday

Brant

  • 2,964 total cases — up 22 from Tuesday
  • 2,783 resolved cases
  • 161 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 9 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,489 total cases — up 16 from Tuesday
  • 2,251 resolved cases
  • 192 active cases
  • 41 deaths

The province administered 140,785 vaccine doses on Tuesday for a total of nearly 6.5 million doses.

There are 402,258 people in the province who have received both required vaccine doses.

There are 1,673 patients in hospital with COVID-19. There are 776 patients in ICU with 559 of them on ventilators.

Another 3,477 cases have been marked as resolved.
