Niagara police recover $8,000 worth of stolen property

Niagara Regional Police Service has arrested two people in connection with a stolen property investigation.

Police launched an investigation earlier this month into the theft of property in St. Catharines and Thorold.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in south St. Catharines and recovered more than $8,000 worth of stolen property.

Matthew Belisle, 18, and Kaylee Van De Byl, 20, were arrested and face several charges including possession of stolen property, break and enter, and theft. Van De Byl also faces five counts of fraud.

Both were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
