Contraception study

A study shows IUD’s or implants are the most effective form of birth control.

7,500 women at high risk for unintended pregnancy were given their choice of birth control, which also included birth control pills, patch, ring or injection.

More than 150 women became accidentally pregnant during the trial.

Of those, 130 had been on the pill, patch or ring.

Researchers say long-lasting contraception has very low failure rates but the high upfront cost deters many women from using them.
