HAPPENING NOW:

Amnestic cognitive impairment

Older adults with a condition called “amnestic mild cognitive impairment” may have a higher risk for early death.

The memory problems associated with the condition are more severe than what’s normal for the aging process but not serious enough to truly affect daily life.

The study included more than 700 people over age 70.

Those with amnestic MCI had twice the risk for an early death than cognitively normal peers.
