AED heart attacks
While more defibrillators are making their way into public places, the majority of heart attacks happen in areas without the potentially life-saving devices.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania school of medicine mapped the locations of 3,500 heart attacks, and found just 7% occurred within a two-minute walk from an automated external defibrillator.
Experts say AED’s need to be more strategically placed within communities, and must be easy to identify.
