Premier Kathleen Wynne spoke this afternoon about the ice storm.
She says she has spoken to mayors across the region and has offered the province’s full assistance.
Wynne says the province is using all its available resources to keep Ontarians safe.
“All resources have been brought in,” said Wynne. “Christmas is just a few days away and we’re doing everything possible to restore our power and to ensure safety.”
Wynne reminds people to stay off the roads if possible so that they’re clear for emergency services and hydro crews. She also says to keep fire prevention in mind, and to check in on any neighbours who might be vulnerable.
