Social media and the storm

Social media became a vital source of information during yesterday’s storm. Without power, many Hamilton residents turned to their smart phones to share photos and stories about downed trees and power lines. Others used Twitter to ask the city and power companies for help.

As Elise Copps tells us, while some authorities rose to the occasion, providing quick responses to residents, others disappointed.
