Woman hurt trying to protect pipes

An elderly Niagara Falls woman seriously injured her arm this afternoon in an effort to keep her pipes from freezing.

The woman had opened a trap door to let the heat from the Stanley Ave house warm up the pipes when she tripped and fell.

She was bandaged up and rushed to hospital.
