Woman, child found dead in trunk

Autopsies are underway for a woman and child whose bodies were found in the trunk of a car in Sunderland on Saturday.

Durham police say there are no obvious signs of injuries to the bodies, but homicide and forensic units are involved in the investigation.

The car was found in a farmer’s field in the small community north of Port Perry, about 90 kilometres outside of Toronto.

Police say they are trying to retrace the woman’s steps leading up to her death.
