Woman accused in Brampton mother’s death remaining in jail

The Brampton woman accused of killing her sister-in-law remains in police custody.


Mandeep Punia, 35, made her first court appearance Saturday morning on a charge of second degree murder.

She’s accused in the death of 27-year-old Poonam Litt.

Litt was reported missing in 2009, and police found her remains in Caledon this past February.

Her father-in-law Kulwant Singh Litt is charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and appeared in court yesterday.
