What’s closed Feb. 19 after Wednesday’s storm in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara

Wednesday saw a significant weather event with freezing rain creating treacherous driving conditions. Here is the closures impacting the day:

Hamilton

  • Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board schools, adult education, school-based child care centres and administrative buildings are open but they are warning of transportation delays. Updates can be found on the website;
  • Calvin Christian School’s West 5th and Unity campuses;

Halton Region

  • Transportation is cancelled in Zone 1 – which covers Burlington and Oakville – for both Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic School Board;
  • Schools in Halton remain open;

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, transportation cancelled and schools closed all zones;
  • Community Support Centre programs are cancelled;
  • ÉÉC Sainte-Marie Norfolk is closed along with childcare services;
  • All Community Senior Support Services – Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Adult Day Programs and Congregate Dining programs;

Brantford and Brant County

  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, transportation cancelled and schools closed all zones;
  • Grand Erie District School Board has cancelled all student transportation and closed schools Thursday;
  • ÉÉC Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys is closed along with child care services;
  • Transportation is cancelled and school is closed at W. Ross Macdonald in Brantford;

Six Nations

  • Six Nations of the Grand River offices and family health team;

Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation

  • Schools and offices closed.
