The Around the Bay Road Race is just over a week away and a new venue is set to host the event.
Liuna Station will be the new host venue this year, a change from last year when the race was hosted at Tim Hortons Field.
Race director Anna Lewis confirmed that the 30 km race will actually be 30 km, unlike last year’s 34 km route ending at Tim Hortons Field.
30 km race
This year’s 30 km will start at Simcoe Street East, just east of John Street North at 9:45 a.m.
15 km race
The 15 km will begin at 9:45 a.m. north of the lift bridge and will have shuttles departing from Liuna Station at 8:30 a.m. to bring participants to the start line.
10 km race
The 10 km will start near LaSalle Park and will also have shuttles departing from Liuna Station at 8:30 a.m. to bring participants to the start line.
5 km race
The 5 km will start at Simcoe Street East, just east of John Street North at 8:30 a.m.

The following Hamilton road closures will temporarily be in place March 30 to allow for the safe passage of runners:

There will also be lane restrictions on James Street from Simcoe Street to Burlington Street and on Burlington Street/eastbound Nikola Tesla Boulevard from James Street to Woodward Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The following Burlington road closures will also be in place on March 30 from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. to allow for safe passage of runners:
The southbound lane of King Road from Plains Road East to North Shore Boulevard East will be limited to local access only between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Northbound traffic will not be affected.
The eastbound curb lane of Plains Road West from Spring Gardens Road to North Shore Boulevard West will also be closed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
