Westjet imposes surcharge on Canadian flights

Most Canadians are choosing not to fly these days due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, if those who do fly choose Westjet, they should prepare to pay a few dollars more for their flight – if its within Canada. The airline is imposing a four to seven dollar per passenger surcharge depending on the length of the flight. They say the extra fee is required to help cover a thirty percent increase in fees charged by Nav Canada which runs air navigation in Canada. Westjet is appealing that hike and hopes their surcharge can be scrapped.
