The calendar may say it’s Christmas Eve, but today’s temperatures are making it feel more like early spring. This has been the warmest December 24th on record.

The sun is shining, the grass is still green, people are walking around without jackets and there are no winter boots in sight.

But this has not put a damper on people’s Christmas.

“I think it’s fantastic. What more can we ask for at Christmas. It would be nice to have a little bit of snow but I would rather have the warm weather.”

Normally temperatures would be around freezing this time of year, but this Christmas Eve people are golfing. Others are enjoying a meal on a patio. And it was a perfect day to drive around with the top down.

The skating rink at Spencer Smith Park looked more like a swimming pool, but that didn’t stop skaters from having a good time.

“Normally at this time we are skiing and tobogganing and its weird the ice is not even frozen.”

“It actually feels kind of weird but its fun because of the splashes and stuff.”

Despite the warm weather there’s no shortage of Christmas spirit.

If you are dreaming of a white Christmas this year you’ll have to look pretty hard to find it.
