Wainfleet citizens to aid police

It may be the smallest town in Niagara, but Wainfleet has been home to the region’s two largest marijuana grow ops.

$17 million worth of pot was found in a greenhouse on Highway 3 in two separate police raids over the years.

The most recent bust was in July.

Wainfleet wants to work more closely with local police to identify these grow ops, and use the existing municipal bylaws to make sure they’re not a safety hazard to other residents.
