Two from Hamilton charged in York police drug trafficking investigation

Two people from Hamilton were among eight charged in a York Regional Police drug trafficking investigation.

The probe launched in December 2024 when officials began investigating an individual they believed was importing and exporting large amounts of controlled substances.

Authorities were able to identify other associates involved in the trafficking of drugs across the York Region and throughout other parts of Ontario.

On Oct. 25, 2025, detectives executed five search warrants at residences in the Greater Toronto Area.

The searches led to officers seizing methamphetamine, raw fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA tablets and illicit cannabis. Police also seized more than $300,000 in cash, three firearms, ammunition and two vehicles

As a result, eight suspects were charged and 34 charges were laid. Of those eight people charged, two were from Hamilton.

Hong Luong Luu, 45, of Hamilton is being charged with the following offences:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance (seven counts)
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution
  • Counselling offence that is not committed

Thi Thanh Nguyen, 44, of Hamilton was also charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution.

The investigation, called Project Endless, was conducted in partnership with drug enforcement agencies from the U.S. and Ontario.
