Two arrested, one wanted in allegedly targeted Hamilton shooting

Hamilton police have arrested two people and are looking for a third man after an allegedly targeted Hess Street South shooting in March.

Officers say they were called to 95 Hess St. S shortly after 4:10 a.m. on March 20, 2026 for reports of gunshots inside a unit in the building.

Detectives found an adult suffering a gunshot wound with what is said to be serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say 44-year-old Nicol Jeffrey and 30-year-old Alexander Echeverry, both of Hamilton, have been arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Break and Enter
  • Extortion while Using a Firearm
  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death

Investigators are still searching for another man, 38-year-old Joshua Teklenburg of Hamilton, who is also accused of being involved in the shooting.

The accused is described as black, six-foot-two, around 200 pounds with a medium build, a beard and short black hair.

Police are advising the man to seek legal counsel and surrender himself.

Detectives say the weapon used in the shooting has since been recovered.

Officers are advising anyone who has seen the accused not to approach and call 911.
