Two 17-year-olds arrested in Ancaster hate-motivated assault

Hamilton police have arrested two 17-year-olds after a woman was allegedly hatefully attacked in a parking lot in Ancaster in October.

Officers say that on Oct. 25, 2025, a 21-year-old woman was walking across an Ancaster parking lot when a silver sedan approached her and the occupants threw a drink-cup in her face and made racist remarks toward her.

Detectives say the attack was made without any provocation from the woman.

Investigators determined the two people in the car were 17-year-olds and they have both been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death.

Police believe this incident to be hate-motivated and will be pursuing a sentence aligned with this.
