How to Train Your Dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is the newest animated feature from DreamWorks Animation. Picking up five years after the first film, the sequel reunites us with Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dragon companion Toothless. Thanks to Hiccup’s efforts in the first film, the viking town of Berk now lives in harmony with dragons, and Hiccup’s father Stoik the Vast (Gerard Butler) is pressing his son to succeed him as chieftain. But one day while exploring the lands around Berk, Hiccup and his girlfriend Astrid (America Ferrera) stumble across an ice cave and a mysterious Dragon Rider. The rider is attempting to shelter wild dragons from Drago Bludqvist, a ruthless conqueror who plans to use his Bewilderbeast to bring all dragons under his control. Soon the new friends, along with the citizens of Berk, find themselves in an epic battle to stop Drago, and return peace to the land.

New additions Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington and Djimon Hounsou join the all-star voice cast from the first film which includes Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig. Canadian-born Dean DeBlois took over full writing and directing duties for the sequel and said he came back on board on one condition, “I told them, ‘I’m really interested if you’ll entertain the idea of it being a trilogy…The first movie can serve as the first act, this’ll be the larger second act and then there must be a third culminating act.’ Thankfully, they bought into that concept.” That’s good news for Dragon fans!

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is rated PG.
