22 Jump Street  is a comedy film directed by  Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and the sequel to their 2012 film 21 Jump Street. With the success of the Jump Street program, Schmidt and Jenko (Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum) are put back onto a similar case, but instead of going to high-school, the two are sent to MC State College to track down the supplier of a new drug called WHYPHY. The duo immerse themselves in the college lifestyle, Schmidt falling for a beautiful art major and Jenko joining a frat and playing for the football team. But as the two get closer to finding the supplier, they start to drift apart and wonder if being partners is really in their best interest. The film co-stars Ice Cube, Amber Stevens, and Wyatt Russell.

As they demonstrated with their last feature The LEGO Movie, Lord and Miller have a very self-aware sense of humour. But while they don’t mind making fun of the fact that 22 Jump Street has almost exactly the same plot as the first, they also wanted to make sure it had some new layers to it. As Miller describes it “The running gag is that the plot is just like the last one – but in trying to do the same thing again, it doesn’t work, and Schmidt and Jenko have to find something new.”

22 Jump Street is rated 14A.
